Shyamshiddhir moth – Munshiganj

Shayamshiddhir moth, munshiganj

The moth of Shyamshiddhir is also known as Shombhu Nather Byashartho Moth. Someone named Shombhu Nath, a rich Hindu built the Temple during 1758. This is located in the Shyamshiddhi union of Sreenagar ulazpila, Munshiganj. This is now functioning as a Hindu temple and as of now it is an active one. It has a Shiva Linga (phallus of Shiva) inside.

According to local people, and from my observation, this moth is the tallest from the whole Bikrampur. This is actually huge one. Initially I didn’t want to believe this, but when I got near to the temple I found the immensity of the temple.

How to Go:

When you are from Dhaka you have to get down at Bejgaon bus stoppage From there you could hire a rickshaw. It did cost me a 30 Taka rickshaw fare to reach the temple from the bus stoppage (as per year 2010). So now the cost might vary. Ask the driver you want to visit Shyamshiddhir Moth and they would know where to take you. GPS coordinate of the moth is (23°32’22.6″N, 90°16’27.3″E).
