Myinee river – Khagrachari

Myinee (also Maini) is one of the prominent rivers from Khagrachari district. This shallow river is originated inside Bangladesh. Most of the places on this river don’t have much depth. Though the river has a moderate current, it is not as strong as the River Sangu. Source of this river is located at the top portion of Khagrachari district.

Dighinala upazila  is situated beside this Myinee river. After flowing through approximately 110 kilometer this river falls into the Kaptai lake. Though the river is under water when it falls into Kaptai, but before the Kaptai lake this river actually joined with the Kasalong river (read about two waterfall that falls contribute to this river). The place where the two rivers join is known as Mainimukh (The mouth of river Myinee). Mainimukh is located in Langadu of Rangamati district. As this Myinee river contributes to Kaptai lake, every drops of water eventually falls into Karnafuli river and then into the Bay of Bengal.
