Chachra Shiv Temple (In Bangla Chachra Shiv Mondir) is a 17th century built Hindu temple that is located at Chachra of Jessore district. It is located exactly beside the Jessore-Benapole highway. This is a two-stored Shiva temple that has a single Rotno (basically the second store) at the top. From the inscription of the temple it’s found that the Temple was built by someone named Monohor Ray during 1696. Check the photo gallery of Jessore for more pictures.
Chachra Shiv Temple has a stylish outer wall at the three sides out of four. Most of those are old fashioned but simple terracotta. It was left carelessly for many years. But recently the department of Bangladesh Archaeology renovated the temple and declared this as an archaeological asset of Bangladesh.
