If you are looking for a nice place in Ireland for gorgeous Cherry blossoms then Herbert park could be a perfect place. During the first week of May (sometimes last couple of weeks in April) is the perfect time to see the numerous Cherry blooming. This park is located in southern part of Dublin, near Ballsbridge.
This park is pretty big and lot of local visitors come here for jogging throughout the days. Inside the park it has a nice little boulevard that is covered with Cherry trees. It was a wonderful atmosphere under the pink cherry trees. Few of the trees were having white flowers as well.
There were few benches beside the road, and also under the trees. We sat on one such bench and enjoyed the romantic moment. We walked through the road several times slowly and took numerous photos (including us). I didn’t see too many visitors went there for the Cherry blossoms. Probably most of the local people are used to with it.
There is a small pond inside the park which has several ducks and swans swimming around. There has a small canteen inside the park premise for refreshment. Also I saw there are new cherry trees are planted recently which already started bringing flowers.
There is a road side parking available in Herbert park. That road bisects the park in fact. There are plenty of parking spaces on both sides of the road. After 6:30pm the parking is free (also free during all day in Saturday and Sunday). GPS coordinate of the park is (53°19’39.6″N, 6°14’06.3″W).
